How to create a PayPal account in Uganda

Consider using a PayPal platform that is foreign.

For you to have a working PayPal account in Uganda, using a foreign PayPal platform is necessary. I recommend about to 2 countries to use;

1.Lesotho PayPal

2.South African PayPal

Through my years of experience, I have tested and confirmed that the above PayPal platforms are suitable for opening a PayPal account in Uganda.

For this guide I will use the Lesotho PayPal, So click on the Lesotho PayPal link to have the platform launched.

When the Page has finished launching then go to the top right of the page and click “Sign Up”

Then Select account type

PayPal will offer you two accounts types.

Personal account

Business account

Consider using the PayPal business account even if you are an individual because it is much easier to set up and also increases your business opportunities since it allows you to send invoices to request payment from clients.

How then do you set up the PayPal business account?

Select your account type and then choose the “continue” button to proceed.

Enter a valid email address that you want to use to sign up for the PayPal business account.

Ensure that you have full access to the email address because PayPal will be sending all its communication through it.

On the subsequent page, you will be prompted to create a Password. Ensure it’s a strong one and you can easily remember it.

After you have had the password set up, click the ‘’Continue’’ button to move to the next page.

Provide the legal name of your business’s contact person. If you are the business owner, this can be your name. You can also use a registered business name if you have one.

You can use your home address if your business does not yet have an address.

To continue, click the button after you’re finished.

Describe your business

Describing your business by being specific on the type of business you provide is important. Also, assign the most suitable keyword to your product or service you offer.

Try to include your website in the form if you have one.

Please fill in your personal details.

Another key step in obtaining a PayPal business account is to prove that you are a real person.

Fill in your birth date and nationality as Uganda. It makes no difference if you’re utilizing a PayPal platform from another country.

Choose your type of identity i.e. National ID, International Passport, or Driver’s License then fill out the form with the the right number from your desired kind of identification.

It’s okay to have both your home address and phone number are the same as your business address and phone number.

On the next page, PayPal will welcome you to their platform and give you a quick overview of your account’s features. This indicates that your PayPal business account has been successfully set up.

Please ensure to confirm your email address

You must confirm your email address before you can start sending or receiving money on your account.

Your email address is the one you’ll use to complete any PayPal transaction. As a result, you must first confirm it.

Go to the site’s menu at the top left of the page and select summary.

You’ll see your PayPal account balance as well as some other details.

Click “Details” to see more information.

On the next page, you’ll see all of your information; go through it and double-check that everything is correct. Then press the Submit button.

Look through your inbox for a PayPal confirmation email. To confirm your email, open the message and click the “Confirm Your Email” button.

You’ll be taken to your PayPal account login page.

By default, your email address will be shown. To login to your account, simply enter your correct password and then click “Confirm Email Address.”
